The Program Files folder stores files needed to run software programs including the programs that come with Windows 7. When new pieces are installed, its files usually go into their own folder within the program file folder.

The User’s folder contains personal account folders used to store data files and operating system settings that belong to each user created on the system. This file also stores data files shared among all system users. The Windows folder stores all the critical operating system files that Windows 7 needs to run. How the Path to a Library Differs From the Actual Path to a Folder

When a file is saved to a library, it is automatically saved to the library’s default save location. The default save location is the user’s personal folder such as My Documents. A path to a library is located through the public folder for example C:\Users\Public\My Music while a path to a folder is located through a users account such as C:\Users\John \Music. Libraries paths are configured to locate files and folders in user profile data folders, public folders, and network shares while folder paths are configured to store files and folders in certain locations such as drive C in the hard disk.

Organize menu contains functions that would generally be in the Edit Menu bar of Windows Explorer with additional layout and option. The Layout option has check boxes that enable the different panes and menu bars in the Windows Explorer view: Menu bar, Details pane, Navigation pane and preview pane. Folder and Search Options enable quick access to configure Windows Explorer. The Properties option opens the properties of the selected item. For example a folder will have properties such as date created, date modified and sharing options. The Rename option can be selected or deselected to change the name of an item in the Windows Explorer.

Through the Windows Explorer-Organize individuals can rename files and folder icons directly by typing over or editing the existing file or folder name. The Delete option in the Windows Explorer moves the files, folders or shortcuts to the Recycle Bin.  It is important to note that all the other options on the organize menu depend on the view or item that is selected and are relevant to those options. Similar options are available by right-clicking the item. This will display the context menu with multiple options available.
